The fourth Road Walking event of the 2025 Winter Season powered by Coles will take place at Woodbridge Riverside Park , hosted by WA Race Walking Club & Athletics West 

REGISTRATION & EVENTS

Athletes must be a current registered member of Athletics West (either through a Little Athletics Centre, or an affiliated senior club or Independent Member) to compete.

Online Registrations close 11:59pm Wednesday 25 June 2025.

The events will be conducted between 1:00pm - 4:00pm* and will include:

  • Little Athletics events for Under 9 - Under 17. These events can only be entered by athletes with a Little Athletics Program membership
  • Open Entry events- These events can only be entered by athletes with a Senior Athletics membership

Late Entries will be made available on the competition day where spaces are available via the Athletics West Technical Information Centre (TIC) tent

REMINDER: The distances listed on the Championships Event page for each age group are the only distances athletes are permitted to compete in at the Road Walking Championships. Athletes will not be allowed to participate in distances shorter than those designated for their age category.

ATHLETE CLINIC

You’re invited to a special clinic from 2:30pm (*pending final timetable) with Australian race walking athlete, Alexandra Griffin at the final Winter Series Race Walk event!

Get set to level up for the State Championships as WA’s state record holder shares her go-to warm-up/recovery, top mindset hacks, and answers all your burning questions in a Q&A setting. 

Come along, get inspired, and walk away with tips from one of the best!

VOLUNTEERING REQUIREMENT

Our events are only possible with the support of volunteers. Events may be delayed or cancelled if we don't have enough assistance on the day. If you are able, we ask that all members offer their help with set up and/or pack down at these events.

CHECK IN / MARSHALLING

Athletes are to check in at TIC no less than 15 minutes prior to the race start time to receive their race number. Athletes will then be marshalled to the start line, 10 minutes prior to the race start time for a briefing from the Chief Walks Judge. 

 

WARM UP / COOL DOWN

Athletes are only allowed to warm up on the course at the scheduled time in the program or elsewhere around the venue. Athletes are not allowed to cool down on the course during races. 

 

RACE START / FINISH

Athletes are to line up on the Start Line when advised by the Starter and/or Chief Walks Judge. 

At the Finish Line, athletes are to line up and get their number checked off and spoken to by the Chief Walks Judge before departing the Finish Area. 

 

BIB NUMBERS & UNIFORMS

Competing athletes must wear their Senior or Little Athletics 2024-25 Season competition bib. Little Athletics Athletes will have ONE (1) competition bib and Senior Athletes must wear TWO (2) competition bibs (on the front and back of their uniform).

Competing athletes are required to wear the prescribed competition uniform by their club or centre. If an athlete is an independent Athletics West member, they are required to wear the independent uniform.

RESULTS

Results will be posted on the Athletics West website at the conclusion of the competition.
