COLES AUSTRALIAN LITTLE ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Australian Athletics (AA), and Little Athletics Australia (LAA), are pleased to announce dates and details for the inaugural aligned athletics championships in Brisbane in 2026. Reflecting closer working relationships between the two bodies, the Australian Athletics Junior Championships (AAJC) which forms part of the Chemist Warehouse Summer Series will be conducted side-by-side with the Coles Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC).
The Coles Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC) is an annual two-day event conducted by Little Athletics Australia. All states and territories, apart from the Northern Territory, are represented at the Championships.
The ALAC encompasses
- Under 13 athletes (and Under 13 Multi-Class athletes)- Teams Track & Field Championship
- Under 14 athletes (and Under 14 Multi-Class athletes)- Teams Track & Field Championship
SELECTION INFORMATION
ALAC will be open to all athletes who are members with Athletics West and eligible age to compete.

Date: 12 April to 14 April 2026 (Team tour 11 April to 15 April)

All athletes must nominate in advance to be considered for the team. Nominate Here
ALL ATHLETES wishing to be considered for selection for the WA State team MUST indicate this when registering to compete through the WA State Junior Championships entry portal. Participants will be asked whether they wish to be considered for State Team selection for the 2026 Australian Little Athletics Championships, and only athletes who check this box to indicate ‘YES’ will be considered.

Able Bodied: 28 girls and 28 boys will be selected per age group for the Australian Little Athletics Championships. Selection is based on filling the strongest possible team across multiple events.

Multi-Class- 12 athletes per age group (must hold a provisional classification at a minimum)
TEAM TRAVEL | Full Team package (inc. full uniform) is compulsory for 2014 born athletes & 2013 athletes who only do ALAC. The team travel will be 11 April- 15 April 2026. Athletics West will book accommodation, flights, ground transport, meals, team activities for all athletes who accept the position on the team.
TEAM SUPPORT | Athletics West will be sending team managers and coaches to support the WA Team at the event. We will also be conducting team sessions ahead of the Championships to allow athletes to get to know their teammates and prepare for the event.
TEAMUNIFORM | Under Age athletes are required to wear WA State Team uniform (Valour Only). The State Team uniform will be included in the team package.
