INTRODUCTION TO S&C WORKSHOP

In partnership with the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS), we are pleased to offer the 2022 Coach Education Workshop Series, aiming to provide education and development opportunities to WA coaches by focusing on: Education, Environment, and Experience. These workshops are provided free to all Athletics Australia accredited coaches (Level 1 or above). Athletics West acknowledges the support of WAIS and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries in making this series possible.

In this session, Daniel Kadlec WAIS Strength & Conditioning Coach, will present a theoretical workshop on introduction of strength and conditioning for Track & Field, discussing the role and value within a training program.

SCHEDULE

*Coaches are able to stay to attend one of the athlete practical sessions after the theory session.

  • 11.15am- 12pm- Coaches Theory (at WAIS Seminar Room)
  • 12pm- Athlete Practical (Target Talent Program Athletes)
  • 12.40pm-1.20pm- Athlete Practical (Emerging Athlete Program)
  • 1.20pm-2pm- Athlete Practical (Emerging Athlete Program)

Daniel Kadlec, current WAIS Strength & Conditioning Coach. Daniel is also S&C coach for Claremont Football Club in collaboration with Edith Cowan University while completing a PhD in Sports Science sponsored by VALD Performance. Daniel was previously a strength and conditioning coach in a private facility (PlusD Sports) in Solingen, Germany for seven years. He has worked with various teams, including Professional Handball, Germans Women's Rugby 7s, and the centralised women's Judo athletes.
