Relay Workshop - Coaching & Officiating Insights

Athletics West is pleased to be hosting a Relay workshop, with a focus on Swedish Relay, from two key perspectives - coaching and officiating. 

Featuring insights from Lyn Foreman and Matt Vine, this session is designed to provide a holistic understanding of the event, from performance strategies to rule compliance. By combining these two viewpoints, the workshop aims to help coaches, officials and athletes work together more effectively and confidently. 

Whether you're looking to learn some coaching tips, strengthen your knowledge of competition, or simply broaden your understanding of the Swedish Relay, this workshop is for you.

BIOGRAPHY | Lyn Foreman

Lyn Foreman OAM is the Australian Athletics High Performance Coach Mentor and has coached many athletes to Olympic, Commonwealth Games, World Championships, World Cup, World University Games, World U20 Championships. Lyn is passionate about applying athletics to all sports. She has worked with sporting organisations including Tennis Australia, Hockey Australia, and local AFL teams in speed/technique sessions. Lyn has travelled country WA and Australia running clinics and education sessions as a facilitator for Athletics Australia Accreditation courses.

BIOGRAPHY | Matthew Vine

Matt is a World Athletics Bronze Referee, with over thirteen years of officiating experience in Grassroots, State, National and International level events. He has been a State-level Competition Director for several years, providing guidance to volunteer Officials and continues to support young emerging Officials through mentorship programs.
