The 2026 Fuel to Go & Play Little Athletics Challenge is a NEW team challenge that will see athletes progress from their Centre competitions to the Challenge. Held across two days, athletes will compete for points and PB ribbons, with the winning Metro and Country Club awarded the Stuart Dunne Memorial Shield.

ENTRY & ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to compete at the 2026 Little Athletics WA Challenge, participants must be registered with an Athletics West affiliated Centre or Club (by the advertised entry date) and only in the Under 9 – Under 12 Age groupsIf you have not currently registered for the 2025-26 Season, please visit our Membership page.

Qualification Standards

COMPETITION PROCESS

MARSHAL PROCESS  

Event Marshalling will be in operation. Event Marshalling will occur at the Southern End of the grandstand near the 100m start line.

ALL athletes must report to Event Marshalling prior to each event/discipline while ensuring that you are race ready.

Marshalling Times:

·         35 Minutes for Field Events

·         20 Minutes for Track Events

WARM UP:  

  • Conducted at McGillivray Oval for athletes and coaches to warm up throughout the Championships.
  • Wheelchair and Frame Running Athletes warming up must contact Athletics West for the use of the Track.  

PB ZONE:

The Little Athletics WA Challenge is a non-medalling event. Athletes who achieve a Personal Best (PB) during their event(s) may collect a PB ribbon, located near the finish line. Roster Athletics will show the times entered into roster and the results. 

LATE ENTRIES:

There will be NO late entries for this event
 

TEAM MANAGERS

All Centres with competing athletes are encouraged to have a Team Manager sign in at the Technical
Information Centre (TIC) prior to the event commencing and Pick up the event pack

Volunteer Roster [updated 20/03/26]

Saturday | Sunday 

We ask that all Volunteers please check in for their chosen role at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Volunteers must sign in at TIC, where they will receive a Volunteer Vest, which must be returned to TIC upon completion.  Volunteers must also sign in at Site.

EVENT SHIRTS

The 2026 Fuel to Go & Play Little Athletics WA Challenge EVENT SHIRT will go on sale from Tuesday 3rd of February 2026!  

The shirts will be sold via the Valour online store and delivered directly to you.   

To ensure you receive your shirt in time for the event, we recommend purchasing no later than Thursday March 5, 2026.  

Please note all event shirts are limited release, and therefore limited stock and sizes are available! We recommend you purchase a shirt as soon as possible once sales open to avoid missing out.
