Event Rules & Regulations

ROSTER ATHLETICS

This event utilises the Roster Athletics app for start lists, timetables, and check-in.Please make sure to scan the QR code posted around the venue to access.

ALL Athletes MUST have a Roster Athletics Account to be able to compete. If you haven't created your Roster Athletics account, please see the attached document below. All accounts must be created at least 48 hours before the event in order to be approved. 

CHECK IN

Athletes will be required to check-in for their events via Manual Entry or Roster Athletics app. Manual Check-in for events will be available from Monday 16th February when athletes collect their bibs from the Athletics West office. The Manual Check-in process will also be available across the course of the competition weekend at the ‘Bib Collection’ desk. 

Checking in via the Roster Athletics QR code will still be available and found throughout the WA Athletics Stadium. Check-in for events will close 1 hour before the event start time. Information on how to check-in for an event can be found below. Faliure to check in at least 1 hour before event start will result in a DNS for the athlete. 

SCRATCHING

Once entries have closed, and you are required to scratch from the event, please follow the below process; 

  • Up until 24 hours prior to event commencement the provided ‘Event Scratching’ form can be submitted to confirm any event scratchings. 
  • 24 hours prior to event commencement scratching must occur via individuals Roster Athletics app. 

COMPETITION PROCESS

BIB COLLECTION: 

  • All athletes will receive one (1) competition bibs specific for this event.  

  • Bibs can be collected from the Athletics West office from Monday 2nd March until Thursday 5th March from 3:00pm – 6:00pm outside of the Athletics West office.  

  • For collection of bib across the course of the competition weekend this can be done via the ‘Bib Collection’ area designated on the Venue Map. If collecting on the day, please allow at least 15 minutes for collection.  

MARSHAL PROCESS  

Event Marshalling will be in operation at the WA Senior State Championships. Event Marshalling will occur at the Southern End of the grandstand near the 100m start line. 

ALL athletes must report to Event Marshalling prior to each event/discipline while ensuring that:  

  • You arrive within outlined timeframes (refer to event Rules & Regulations for exact timings). 

  • You’ve Checked in for your event/s, noting that check in closes 1 hour before your event start time. 

  • You’re race ready  

There will not be any announcements made throughout the competition for event marshalling timings and athletes will need to be aware of their event specific marshalling time frames and ensure they are reporting on time. 

WARM UP:  

  • Conducted at McGillivray Oval for athletes and coaches to warm up throughout the Championships. 

  • Hurdles and Blocks will be available for use. 

  • Wheelchair and Frame Running Athletes warming up must contact Athletics West for the use of the Track.  

LATE ENTRIES:

Late entries are taken solely on availability of a vacant position. There are no guarantees of positions in events for late entrants and the number of available positions in an event will be determined at the complete discretion of Athletics West, in line with timetabling considerations and lane availability.  

If no entries are received for an event by the closing date, this event will be removed from the program and no late entries will be accepted.  

Late entries will be accepted through an online portal from 12pm Wednesday 25th February 2026, until 11:59pm Monday 2nd March 2026. The online portal will provide the number of positions available, and late entries will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Upon opening the late entry portal, Athletics West will also post a list of events that are closed, and subsequently no further entries will be accepted for these events.  

  • Late Entries will NOT be available beyond 11:59pm Monday 2nd March 2026, this includes not being available across the course of the Championship weekend. 

Late Entries incur a cost of $40 per event plus the Championship Entry fee if not already paid.  

 

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteer Roster

We ask that all Volunteers please check in for their chosen role at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Volunteers must sign in at TIC, where they will receive a Volunteer Vest, which must be returned to TIC upon completion.  Volunteers must also sign in at Site.  

EVENT SHIRTS

The 2026 WA State Track and Field Championships EVENT SHIRT will go on sale from 4:00pm on Friday the 9th of January 2026! 

Please note this is the event shirt for the Junior and Senior Championships. 

The shirts will be sold via the Valour online store and delivered directly to you.  

To ensure you receive your shirt in time for the event, we recommend purchasing no later than Friday February 6, 2026. 

Please note all event shirts are limited release, and therefor limited stock and sizes are available! We recommend you purchase a shirt as soon as possible once sales open to avoid missing out.  

 
 

ENTRY & ELIGIBILITY

This event is for Senior Athletics Program members in the Under 20 - Open Age groups who are affiliated through a club or registered as an Athletics West independent member. If you have not currently registered for the 2025-26 Season, please visit our Membership page. 

Junior members aged U13 - U18 (Born 2014 - 2009) are also permited to enter the event, however they are required to meet the 2026 Australian Athletics National Championships qualification standards for either Open or U20. The standard must be met by registration closing date of Sunday 22nd February 2026 at an Athletics West or above sanctioned meet. Evidence provided upon registration of when and recorded standard to validate entry -
