ENTRY & ELIGIBILITY
Entry: The WA State Open 10,000m Championships is open to all members who will be ages 16 by 31st of December 2026 and are affiliated through a senior club, one club, or registered as an Athletics West independent member.
Qualification to enter: There is no qualification criteria to enter
AGE GROUPS
The 10,000m Championship event only offers an Open race for both genders. Athletes aged 16–18 will compete in the Open category, as athletes within these age groups are permitted to enter.

COMPETITION PROCESS
COMPETITION BIBS
- All athletes must wear their 2026/27 Season competition bibs. All athletes MUST wear their ONE (1) competition bib on the front of their uniform, affixed to the front of their uniform with no less than four pins by each corner.
- If this event is an athletes first competition for the 2026/27 seasons, bibs will be available from the Technical Information Centre (TIC). ONLY Athletics west independent and Masters athletes are to collect from the Technical Information Centre (TIC), which is located near the 100m start. All other athletes must collect their competition number prior to competing from their club/centre.
WARM UP PROCESS
Athletes may warm up on the main track until 15 minutes prior to the start time of the first track event, following that time athletes must warm up outside of the black barriers or behind the grandstand.
General warm up will not be permitted elsewhere in the arena, except for field events once the previous event has finished. At the conclusion of your event, all athletes must leave the main track immediately.
APPROVED SHOES
Please see World Athletics Shoe Compliance List (under Manuals & Guidelines) for the current list of shoes deemed approved by World Athletics. Please note that World Athletics continually amends the Approved Shoe List as they complete their testing of shoes, therefore athletes should ensure they check this list on a regular basis.

LATE ENTRIES
Late entries are taken solely on the availability of a vacant position. There are no guarantees of positions in events for late entrants and the number of available positions in an event will be determined at the complete discretion of Athletics West, in line with timetabling considerations and lane availability. If no entries are received for an event by the closing date, this event will be removed from the program and no late entries will be accepted.

Late entries will open at 6:00pm on Thursday 12 November 2026, and close at 12:00pm on Friday 13 November 2026.
