The role of the proposed Pathways Advisory Committee (PAC) is to provide contextual strategic guidance and local insight to the Board in relation to all competition related elements of the sport. It will be a sub-committee of the Athletics West Board but with no voting rights.
The objectives of the PAC include:
- Conduct ongoing review of the AW Rules of Competition with the aim of aligning with AA / LAA requirements, rectify any inconsistencies identified and clarify ambiguities within the document;
- Provide recommendations to the AW Pathways Development Coordinator regarding the promotion of “competition programming" throughout the various state-wide athletics competitions;
- To make recommendations on State Championships standards and procedures; and
- To review competition related areas referred by the Board for investigation analysis, and to provide recommendations to the Board on these matters.
Meetings to be held at a minimum four (4) times per financial year, unless otherwise recommended by the PAC. Meetings may take place in person, via tele-conference or another electronic medium.
The PAC shall consist of up to maximum of nine (9) members as follows:
(a) Three (3) Little Athletics associated members (coach, centre representative or member);
(b) Three (3) Senior Athletics associated members (coach, club representative or athlete);
(c) Two (2) registered officials (one from Little Athletics and one from Seniors); and
(d) One (1) to be an independent;
The term for positions will be for up to two years.
