Celebrating Our Dedicated Officials: NAR Accreditation Achievement

We are proud to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievement of ten of our Western Australian Officials who have successfully completed their World Athletics National Athletics Referee (NAR) accreditation over the past year.

Jacinta Thompson, Gemma Vine, Dean Fleming, Kieran Reeve, Yvonne Mann, Scott James, Dave Wyatt, Gay Wyatt, Miriam Ifould, and Phill Langley are now officially recognised as World Athletics accredited National Athletics Referees. 

This accreditation reflects their commitment to excellence, development, and the ongoing pursuit of officiating at the highest standard. The NAR qualification is a nationally recognised certification, involving both theoretical and practical components. To achieve this, officials completed a series of online learning modules via the World Athletics E-Learning Hub, covering essential knowledge in jumps, throws, and track events. Following this, each official dedicated three days of practical officiating at permitted competitions, where they demonstrated their skills and were assessed for competency. 

This milestone highlights their passion for the sport and sets a fantastic example for others in the athletics community. We hope their achievement inspires more officials to undertake the NAR course or pursue further officiating education.
