COVID 19 UPDATE | 5 MARCH 2022

Athletics West has been notified that an individual who attended the WA Athletics Stadium on Friday 4 March 2022 has since tested positive for COVID-19.

The individual tested positive to COVID-19 on Saturday 5 March, after attending their Athletics West event on the evening of Friday 4 March. The individual submitted themselves to a PCR test after displaying COVID-19 symptoms and has been working with the WA Health Department following confirmation of the positive case.

The individual was present at the WA Athletics Stadium between 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm.

All athletes, volunteers and officials who were present at the individual’s event have been contacted and been advised to immediately monitor for symptoms.

Athletics West is in communication with the WA Health Department about the case and will continue to work with them to ensure the health and wellbeing of our community.

Based on Government advice and the current Public Health Measures, Athletics West has confirmed the final day of the 2022 WA Little Athletics Championships can continue under the current Public Health Measures. However, Athletics West would like to remind all attendees to continue following the latest Government advice, wear a mask and continue to sanitize where possible.

As per the latest Government announcement, Athletics West continues to adhere to the Level 2 Government Public Health Measures, with the safety and wellbeing of our community continuing to be our utmost priority.
