DAY TWO RECAP | 2022 AUS ALL SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS

WA Javelin throwers dominated Day Two of the Chemist Warehouse Australian All Schools, while out on the track Olivia Dodds completes the 100-200 double.
WA’s Women wondered in the Javelin collected four medals across the Under 15 and 16 Javelin finals. Emma Kempson won the Australian All Schools title in the Under 16 competition with a best throw of 44.82m, while Olivia Williams threw 42.46m to win bronze. While in the Under 15 Competition, Ella Harbison set a new Australian All School Meet Record with a winning throw of 45.40m. Lauren Kelly completed the set for WA with a silver in the Under 15 Girls Javelin. The final throw of the day also saw WA step up onto the medal dais with Jaxon Stewart nabbing bronze in the Under 16 Boys Javelin.
Fresh off the 100m title on Day One, Olivia Dodds returned to the South Australian Athletics Track ready to claim the 100-200 double title. Cruising through the heats, Dodds was joined by Sienna Fillis in the final. Blistering hot conditions pushed both girls, however by the 150m mark Dodds comfortably lead the field, crossing the line in 24.15, with Fillis finishing seventh in a time of 25.29.
Sophie Williams made the most of her busy day, however, it was the Under 14 Girls Triple Jump where she claimed her best result. Backing up her National title from Sydney, Williams claimed the Australian All Schools title and Gold medal with a best jump of 11.14m
Out in the field, WA’s women once again proved to be in fine form with Anais Fitzpatrick winning silver in the Under 17 Pole Vault, Lauren Kelly collected silver in the Under 15 Shot Put and Evie Hilditch claiming bronze in the Under 15 High Jump. Aden McDonald did his best in hot conditions to win Bronze in the Under 17 Boys Long Jump with a clearance of 6.70m.
Rounding out the track medals on Day Two was Isabella Cormack Gibbons in Under 15 Para Girls 200m, running a personal best in 33.57 to claim silver. Skye Bowron’s busy day saw her return to the medal dais with a bronze in the Under 18 200m final, while Neveah Hill collected bronze in the Under 17 400m Hurdles.
DAY THREE PREVIEW
WA’s Middle Distance runners will look to thrill on Day Three with 3000m and 1500m finals set for the track. WA will be looking good for an early medal with Charli-Rose Carlyon the fastest-seeded athlete in the Under 18 Girls 3000m Final. While later in the schedule, recent WA State Record breaker Jamie Deane will aim to keep the good times rolling with a start in the Under 16 1500ms final.
Out on the field, Para Athletes Reese Prior and Niamh MacAlasdair will cap off their Australian All Schools campaign with the Para Long Jump. Both athletes have claimed National medals in the event and will be looking to capitalise in the finals.
