FINAL CHANCE TO SUPPORT PCHF

Published Fri 11 Jun 2021

For more than 20-years, the athletics community in WA have been working closely with the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation to raise critical funds and help reinforce the frontline of children's health in WA.

This weekend at the Athletics West Winter Series in Manning Park, our community will have their final chance to contribute to the 2020-21 funds raised for the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation. To help inspire our community, Athletics West is shining a light on some of the incredible ways our community have banded together to help raise much-needed funds over the last twelve months.

Ridgewood Little Athletics Centre

Ridgewood Little Athletics Centre kickstarted the fundraising drive for the state with the PCHF Grand Relay in November. The Centre's event saw the clubs go head to head in a fun-filled event to help raise the first funds of the 2020-21 season.

Southern Districts Little Athletics Centre

Easily one of the brightest ways to raise funds, Southern Districts Little Athletics Centre swung into the spirit in February with loud shirts, crazy socks and raffles. Special acknowledgement to those parents who took the opportunity to show the Little Athletes how to be your best.

Kingsway Little Athletics Centre

Kingsway Little Athletics Centre offered a range of opportunities for the Little Athletes and their parents to get involved over the last season. The all popular raffle was once again a staple, which was reinforced by four Parent fundraising events, including the 800m, Parents Relay, Javelin and Shot Put.

To help support the 2020-21 Fundraising Initiative for Perth Children's Hospital Foundation, be sure to bring your spare change down to this weekend's event.

Building on the success of the 20-year partnership the Foundation has had with Little Athletics WA, Athletics West has continued the impactful collaboration by fundraising for the new Wal-yan Respiratory Research Centre.

The Wal-yan Respiratory Research Centre is a global epicentre for paediatric respiratory research informing clinical practice and driving a new research agenda for childhood lung health. A powerhouse partnership between the Telethon Kids Institute, Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation and Perth Children’s Hospital, the Centre aims to prevent and cure respiratory illness in children and ensure that all children have healthy lungs for life.

Congratulations to all of Little Athletics Centres for their fundraising efforts over the last twelve months. For more information about how you can get involved in athletics, contact Athletics West on 08 6272 0480.
