FLYING START FOR WA’S WORLD UNDER 20 ATHLETES

WA’s four Cali bound athletes have had their first hit out at Athletics Australia World Under 20 Gold Coast training camp.

Etienne Rousseau, Taylah Cruttenden, Ashely Spencer and Annie Pfeiffer all got to wear their new Australian Puma uniforms and showed their ongoing form as we start heading into the cooler months of the year.

Coming off a rotator cuff issue, Etienne Rousseau was finding his rhythm again in the Men's Discus and Shot Put. Rousseau finished his Discus competition with 52.30m. Also finished with a humbling 16.57m in the Men’s Shot Put.

Taylah Cruttenden starred in her 4x100m relays, running with the Australian Under 20 team, then going on and putting a solid leg in with the Australian A team.

Ashley Spencer has started her campaign with a strong finish in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:02.83, knowing there is more in the tank Ashley will look to hit peak form just in time for the Championships in August.

Selected in the 4x400m relay squad Annie Pfeiffer had a solid first hit out in 400m since Nationals running a 57.32. Pfeiffer will continue to work hard to get back to peak form to solidify her spot in the 4x400m relay in Columbia.

A successful first hit out for all four of our athletes preparing for the 2022 World Under 20 Championships in Columbia in August.
