Laurel Wreath Recipients

Athletics West is excited to announce the Laurel Wreath recipients for the 2026-27 Summer Season powered by Fuel to Go & Play.

The prestigious Laurel Wreath recognises Western Australia's highest-performing athletes for their outstanding achievements on the national and international stage. This year's recipients have delivered exceptional results throughout a remarkable season, representing both Australia and Western Australia at major events including the 2026 Commonwealth Games, World Indoor Championships and World Road Walking Championships, while also showcasing their talent across the Australian Athletics domestic season.

Leading the way is Kurtis Marschall, who will wear bib #1 for the second consecutive year following another outstanding campaign. Marschall secured his third straight Commonwealth Games gold medal and added a bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships, further cementing his status as one of Australia's premier pole vaulters.

Claiming bib #2 is Rhiannon Clarke, whose breakthrough season was highlighted by her first Commonwealth Games gold medal in the T38 200m. Clarke's performance on the international stage marked a significant milestone in her career and reinforced her place among the nation's leading para-athletes.

Rounding out the top three is Nina Kennedy, who will be awarded bib #3 after a season to remember. Kennedy cleared a new Australian record of 4.95m and captured silver at the Commonwealth Games, continuing her impressive run as one of the world's elite pole vaulters.
