NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR 2023 AUSTRALIAN MARATHON TITLES

Athletics West is excited to release the selection policy for athletes wishing to represent WA at the upcoming Australian Marathon and Half Marathon Championship events.

The selection policy and nomination portals for both Championships events are below.

2023 Australian Half Marathon Championships – 13 August 2023

The Australian Half Marathon Championships are set for Queensland on the 13 August 2023 as part of the Sunshine Coast Marathon.  The first three (3) eligible men and women to finish the Half Marathon will be presented with Australian Championships medals.

Gold, silver, and bronze medals will also be presented in the men's and women’s teams’ competitions. Each state can select up to six (6) male and six (6) female representatives, with the top three (3) finishing team members scoring points toward their state team results.

The Australian Marathon Championships are set for New South Wales on the 17 September 2023 as part of the Sydney Marathon.  The first three (3) eligible men and women to finish the Marathon will be presented with Australian Championships medals.

Gold, silver, and bronze medals will also be presented in the men's and women’s teams' competitions. Each state can select up to six (6) male and six (6) female representatives, with the top three (3) finishing team members scoring points toward their state team results.
