PREVIEW | 2026 COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

WA’s country athletes will kick off their 2026 Summer Season powered by Fuel to Go & Play this weekend with Albany Athletics Club gearing up to host over 400 athletes all vying for the chance to become a WA Country Athletics Champion. 

The Country Championships will return to the southwest for the first time since 2019, with three days of action set to take place from this Friday 16th of January to Sunday the 19th of January. The Peter Watson Mile, hosted by Albany Athletics Club to celebrate the achievements of local legend Peter Watson, will also be hosted on the Friday evening as a special event.
