TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT | 2023 JUNIOR INTERNATIONAL TOUR

Athletics West is delighted to announce a 36-athlete-strong team for the upcoming Junior International Tour set to depart this week.
The Junior International Tour will see the 28th Annual International Athletics Competition between Athletics West, Singapore Sports School Council (SSSC) and the Ministry of Education of Malaysia at Choa Chu Kang Stadium.
Athletes aged 14 and 15 years old (calculated as of 31 December 2023) who medalled at the 2023 WA State Track and Field Championships powered by Go For 2&5, or State Combined Event Championships, were invited to nominate for the team to represent Western Australia at the International Athletics Competition.
The tour will take place from 5-10 July and features a two-day competition with a modified program of events between teams from Western Australia, SSSC and MSSM, in addition to sightseeing and tourist activities for the athletes.
“The Junior International Tour provides a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to develop new skills and form new friendships, with many of them travelling overseas for the first time independently of their parents. It allows athletes to observe and appreciate the diversity of culture and customs of another country, whilst forming bonds with teammates that can last a lifetime,” said Athletics West CEO Vince Del Prete
