VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION & ATHLETICS WEST AWARDS

Athletics West is delighted to announce the winners of the inaugural Athletics West Awards as part of our 2021 Volunteer Week celebrations.

21 individuals were recognised with inaugural Athletics West awards for Coaching, Officiating and Athlete performances. Athletics West CEO Vince Del Prete said he was delighted “to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding contribution volunteers make to delivering athletics in WA.”

“Volunteers are the backbone of community sport and having the opportunitity to recognise that contribution is critical. This event is a great way for us to come together and celebrate the ongoing dedication of our volunteers who help grow and foster the sport of athletics.” Del Prete said.

In addition to awarding the 2021 Athletics West Awards, the event also offered an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge WA’s two national award winners for Official of the Year. Earlier in the year Paul Lever was awarded the Coles Little Athletics Australia Official of the Year, while in April, Fiona Brown was award Athletics Australia’s President Award for Officiating.

Athletics West would like to thank every parent, athlete, administrator, coach and official who has volunteered over the last twelve months, and congratulate our 2021 Award Winners.
