EVENT RECAP | 2022 WA Combined Event Championship

The 2022 Combined Event Championships powered by Go For 2&5 couldn’t have landed on a hotter weekend. However, that didn’t stop WA’s top multi-event specialists from battling it out for the crown.

More than 250 athletes from 20 different centres competed in the gruelling heat, with four athletes smashing state records over the course of the weekend.

Imoh Etim (Kingsway) broke the Under 12 Boy’s Pentathlon state record with a total of 1,994 points. Jaxon Stewart (Joondalup) broke the Under 15 Boy’s Heptathlon state record with a total of 4,206 points. In the Under 17 Boy’s Heptathlon Tristen Burgess (Belmont) set a new state record with a total of 4,397 points, while Palace Koia (Cockburn) set a new state record in the Under 13 Girl’s Pentathlon with a total of 2,949 points.

In the Open competition, West Track’s Haydn Gregory took out the Men’s Decathlon with a total score of 4,106 points. Lucy Gleghorn (UWA) took out the Under 20 Women’s heptathlon with a total of 3,832 points. While Sue Coate (Masters Athletics) won the Women’s Master Heptathlon title with a total score of 2,429 points.Congratulations to all that took part in the 2022 WA Combined Event Championship powered by Go For 2&5.
