WA Team Selected for 2026 Junior International Tour

Athletics West is pleased to announce the team selected for the 2026 Junior International Tour, providing a unique opportunity for emerging Western Australian athletes to gain valuable international representative experience.

Returning in 2026 with a revised competition format, the tour will see selected athletes invited to join the Selangor State Athletics Association and compete at the Selangor Junior Athletics Championships 2026. The three-day competition will feature a program of events for athletes aged 14 and 15.

The tour will take place from 14–20 July 2026 and continues to play an important role in the development pathway for young athletes. For many participants, it represents their first opportunity to wear the black and gold on the international stage, helping bridge the gap between state-level competition and future representative opportunities.

Beyond competition, the Junior International Tour provides athletes with valuable experiences that extend well beyond the track and field. The tour is designed to build confidence, foster cultural awareness, develop travel skills and strengthen team-building experiences, preparing athletes for future opportunities in athletics and beyond.

Team selection was based on performances at the 2026 Fuel to Go & Play WA State Junior Championships and the WA State Combined Event Championships, in accordance with the published Selection and Eligibility Criteria.

Congratulations to all athletes who have earned their place on the 2026 Junior International Tour team. We look forward to seeing them compete, as they represent Western Australia on the international stage.

The tour is supported by the Western Australia Government, through the Department of Cultural Industries, Tourism and Sport.
