West Australians Shine at the World U20 Championships

The World Athletics U20 Championships in Oregon have now concluded, with six talented West Australian athletes selected to represent Australia, many earning their first opportunity to compete on the international stage.
Wyatt Hill (Grant Ward) delivered an outstanding performance in the Decathlon, finishing 9th overall and setting a new Western Australian U20 State Record with a score of 7595 points. His impressive campaign included five personal best performances, highlighting his continued development in the event.
Emilia Reed (Aaron Bresland) was a key member of Australia's 4x100m relay team, which produced strong performances throughout the competition. Running the anchor leg, Emilia helped the team clock 43.44 in the heats, breaking the Australian U20 National Record. The team backed up their performance in the final, finishing in an impressive fourth place.
Josiah John (Andrew Iselin) competed strongly in the 200m, recording times of 21.00 in the heats and 21.05 in the semifinals, narrowly missing qualification for the final. Josiah also contributed to the Australian 4x100m relay team, which ran 39.73 to place fourth in their heat.
Lauren Kelly (Dale Stevenson) competed in the Shot Put, producing a solid performance to finish 8th in Qualifying Group B, narrowly missing progression to the final.
Paul Ehioghae (Greg Knott) and Leah O'Brien (Braiden Clarke) were also selected as members of Australia's 4x100m relay squad, gaining valuable experience as part of the national team.
