The sun was out on Day Three of the 2022 Chemist Warehouse Australian Track and Field Championships as Annie Pfeiffer, Tristian Wilson, Zara O'Dea and Sophie Williams collected medals for Western Australia.

A rainy Sunday didn’t deter WA’s best as Leah O’Brien and Sophie Williams claimed National Titles, WA's Under 14 Girls pulled together a golden relay, and Etienne Rousseau dazzled out in the field on Day Two of the 2022 Chemist Warehouse Australian Track and Field Championships.

A cold Day One saw the best from the west collect a handful of medals as the 2022 Chemist Warehouse Australian Track and Field Championships got underway at Sydney Olympic Park.

Going from the youngest Australian at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, at age 14, Madison is now a leader of her sport not only in Australia but globally. Ahead of the 2022 Chemist Warehouse Australian Track & Field Championships and fresh off her WA Sports Star Award at the 2022 SportsWest Awards, we caught up with Madison.  

NORTH WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS BOUND FOR BROOME IN 2022

Athletics West is pleased to announce the North West Athletics Championships will return to Broome from 9 to 11 September 2022. The Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre, home of the Broome Little Athletics Centre, will once again host the Championships following a triumph 2020 and 2021 Championships.

It was a massive weekend at the 2022 WA Little Athletics State Championships powered by Go For 2&5 with over 1500 athletes competing for the state title. Jackson King (Joondalup) and Aliyah Garbin (Cockburn) showed records are made to be broken while Leah O’Brien (UWA) proved age is just a number.

Kicking off at the WA Athletics Stadium on Friday night, the weekend will see the State's best Little Athletes go head to head over a three-day competition. FOUR OF WA'S BEST UP FOR SPORTWEST AWARDS

Athletics West will be well represented at this year's SportWest Awards with four from our community up for awards. The WA Sports Industry's biggest night of the year will see Madison de Rozario and Peter Bol battle it out for the evening's most prestigious award, the WA Sports Star award. While junior athlete Taylah Cruttenden is up for the rebel Junior Sports Star and WA Official Bob Schickert has been nominated for the Roobix Service to Sport - May Campbell Medal.

It was a massive weekend on the West Coast with more than 530 of WA’s top athletes delivering sensational results for the home crowds at the 2022 WA State Track and Field Championships powered by Go For 2&5. Sarah Edmiston thrilled in the Women’s Discus Throw setting a new Oceania and Australian Para F44 Discus Record, while the likes of Kyle Ennis, Matthew Ramsden and Emma Philippe lit up the track.
