DAY ONE RECAP | 2023 AUS JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

WA has had a gold rush on Day 1 with the state collecting six National titles to open the 2023 Chemist Warehouse Australian Junior Track & Field Championships in Brisbane. Leah O’Brien, Sophie Williams, Emilia Reed, Travis Deane and Kieran Smith all collected Australian Titles on the first day of the competition.

185 of WA’s best athletes will represent the state at the upcoming 100th edition of the Australian Junior Track & Field Championships in Brisbane where they will look to claim the 2023 Australian title.

The 2023 Chemist Warehouse Australian Open and Under 20 Track & Field Championships will see Australia’s best battle it out for glory and a World Championships spot at Queensland Sport & Athletics Centre in Brisbane.

WA OFFICIALS BOUND FOR BRISBANE

The 100th edition of the Australian Track and Field Championships is set to unfold this weekend where WA’s best athletes will look to make their mark. However, they won’t be the only contingent from the west coast. Seven of WA’s best Track and Field Officials have been appointed to help administer the four-day Championships and ensure a level playing field is delivered in Brisbane.

The 2023 WA State Track & Field Championships powered by Go For 2&5 is set to see a suite of Olympians, Paralympians and Commonwealth Games Champions descend on the WA Athletics Stadium this weekend. Over 900 athletes will battle it out for the state titles in their pursuit to gain qualification for the upcoming National titles, with Australia's latest debutant and six Birmingham Commonwealth Games athletes to headline the four-day championships.

AUSTRALIA GETS READY TO RACE THE WORLD IN BATHURST

A historic moment in Australia’s sporting history is set to unfold on the slopes of Mount Panorama with some of WA’s best on the start line and behind the scenes. The World Athletics Cross Country Championships Bathurst 23 will see 453 elite runners from 48 teams descend on Bathurst on Saturday 18 February.

2023 STATE TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS NOW OPEN

Registrations are now open for the 2023 State Track & Field Championships powered by Go For 2&5. The Championships will see WA's best athletes descend on the WA Athletics Stadium from 2 to 5 March 2023.

A massive weekend of competition saw the state’s best teams battle it out at the WA Athletics Stadium for the WA State Relay Championships powered by Go For 2&5. Representing Little Athletics Centres and Senior Clubs from across the state, more than 2000 athletes took part to stake their claim on a state title.

This weekend more than 2,000 WA athletes will descend on the WA Athletics Stadium for the season’s biggest event, the 2023 WA State Relay Championships powered by Go For 2&5. The Championships will see metro and regional Little Athletics Centres and Senior Clubs battle it out across a massive day of competition on Saturday, 4th of February.

JANUARY 23 RECAP | WA’S BEST LAUNCH 2023 CAMPAIGNS

The state’s top athletes have launched into 2023 with a collection of World Championship qualifiers, Australian selections and titles being collected by WA's best. Matthew Ramsden and Madison de Rozario lead the way, while WA Masters Athlete David Carr was named World Masters Athletics Male Athlete of the Year.

2024 COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS SET FOR GERALDTON

Athletics West is pleased to announce the 2024 Country Athletics Championships powered by Coles are set for Geraldton. The Championships will see athletes of all ages given a chance to compete with the event expected to attract more than 350 athletes, all vying for top honours and an opportunity to achieve new personal bests.

RAMSDEN BOUND FOR WORLD CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Matthew Ramsden has produced a powerful performance at the Australian World Cross Country Selection Trials in Canberra’s Stromlo Forrest to secure his spot for the upcoming World Athletics Cross Country Championships. Named alongside 13 other Australians, including Olympic and Commonwealth Games Finalists, Ramsden is now bound to take on the World's best in Bathurst next month.
