PATHWAYS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

In 2021, Athletics West (AW) established one advisory committee for the whole sport – the Pathways Advisory Committee. The role of the Pathways Advisory Committee (PAC) is to provide contextual strategic guidance and local insight to the Board in relation to all competition related elements of the sport. 

The objectives of the PAC include:

  • Conduct ongoing review of the AW Rules of Competition with the aim of aligning with AA / LAA requirements, rectify any inconsistencies identified and clarify ambiguities within the document;
  • Provide recommendations to the AW Pathways Development Coordinator regarding the promotion of “competition programming" throughout the various state-wide athletics competitions; 
  • To make recommendations on State Championships standards and procedures; and
  • To review competition related areas referred by the Board for investigation analysis, and to provide recommendations to the Board on these matters.

As per the Terms of Reference, the PAC has been appointed for the 2023-24 Season as follows:
(a) Three (3) Little Athletics associated members (coach, centre representative or member) - Danni Dix, Nathan Cunningham and David Bevis
(b) Three (3) Senior Athletics associated members (coach, club representative or athlete) - Russell Mathanda, Brenton Mizen and Danny Kevan
(c) Two (2) registered officials (one from Little Athletics and one from Seniors) - Matthew Vine and Paul Lever
(d) One (1) to be an independent - TBC.
