Nominations for Athletics West 2024/25 Awards will open in February!

Clubs & Centres will be able to submit nominations online for Athletics West awards up until the 31st March 2025.  

The aim of these awards are to recognise and reward the ongoing contribution of volunteers, coaches, officials, administrators and athletes. 

Volunteer Recognition Awards

Junior Volunteer of the Year

This award is to recognise the contributions of a Junior Volunteer who is not a participating athlete. 

Coach of the year

This award is to recognise a coach who has made an outstanding contribution to the Club or Centre throughout the season. 

Official of the Year

This award is to recognise an official who has made an outstanding contribution to the Club or Centre throughout the season. 

Administrator of the Year

This award is to recognise an administrator who has made an outstanding contribution to the Club or Centre throughout the season. 

Volunteer Merit Awards

Honour Certificate

This award is to recognise a volunteer who fosters the aims of Athletics West and has an excess commitment level of a Club or Centre volunteer.

Award of Merit

This award is to recognise a person who has displayed a high standard of character and an unselfish willingness to work for the betterment of Athletics.

Distinguished Merit Award

This award is to recognise a previous Award of Merit recipiant who has demonstrated a clear commitment over and above the call of normal duty at all levels of competition in Athletics.

Doug Hancy Award

This award is to recognise an athlete from under 15's to under 17's who isn't necessarily a champion, but shows sportsmanship and courage, mantains effort, who is honest, friendly and shows the willingness to help their club or centre.

Competition Awards

Athletics West Official of the Year

This award is to recognise an Individual who has made an outstanding contribution throughout the season as a Key Official at Athletics West Events.

Emerging Official of the Year

This award is to recognise an Individual who has made an outstanding contribution throughout the season as a Key Official at Athletics West Events and is within their first 7 years of officiating.

Able Bodied Coach of the Year

This award is to recognise an Individual who has made an outstanding contribution throughout the season as a coach at Athletics Events.

Para Coach of the Year

This award is to recognise an Individual who has made an outstanding contribution throughout the season as a coach of athletes eligible for para-sport at Athletics Events.

Emerging Coach of the Year

This award is to recognise an Individual who has made an outstanding contribution throughout the season as a Coach at Athletics Events and is within their first 5 years of coaching.

Frequently Asked Questions

Affiliated Centres and Clubs can submit a nomination. 

Where possible, we encourage Centres to work with their delegate Clubs to submit nominations on their behalf. Only the centre name will appear on the certificate. 

 

Nomination forms will close midnight, 31st March2024.
