WA LITTLE ATHLETICS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFICATION

The Zones Championships will act as the qualifying event for Little Athletics members in the Under 9 – Under 15 age groups for the 2022 WA Little Athletics State Championships powered by Go For 2&5. The Zones Championships will also offer competition opportunity for Under 7's and 8's, however these age groups do not progress to the Little Athletics State Championships. Under 16-Under 17 athletes can enter the WA Little Athletics State Championships directly and do not participate in Zones.

Qualification for the WA Little Athletics State Championships will be allocated by:

  1. For U9-U15 athletes – achieving a qualifying position at the Zones Championships, or a 'next best' performance at the Championships. The quota of athletes per event will be detailed in the Rules and Regulations and will outlines the number of athletes that progress from the Zones Championships to the State Championships.
  2. For U9-U15 Country/North West athletes (considered 'Zone 3'):
    1. Achieving a top 2 placing at Country Championships; or

CLASH EVENTS

Whilst every attempt to minimise event clashes has been made, it is inevitable that clashes will occur. When clashes do occur Rule TR 4.5 and TR 4.6 are applied as normal. Majority of clashes are minimised by occurring closer to the end of the allocated field event time. Most clashes should only impact the call room times of events. Athletes should be aware of their clashes and inform the call room officials of their clash when arriving at the call room for the clashing events.
