This theory session is led by Andrew Murphy, National High Performance Coach for Athletics Australia and open to all coaches to attend to assist with education & self learning

Session Outline

Program development – finding the GAPS to performance.

Technology – S&THOERC profiles and Track & Field profiles - testing options, 10:80 sprint for speed development – training protocols and a case study on current athletes over the last 12 months – Internal load monitoring – HRV

External training loads and intensity training percentages.

 

BIOGRAPHY | Andrew Murphy

Andrew is a three-time Olympian, competing in the triple Jump in Atlanta, Sydney and Athens, and a World Indoor Bronze medallist. Andrew has also competed at 8 World Championships and 4 Commonwealth Games and was Male Team Captain for the 2002 Commonwealth Games and the 2004 Olympic Games.

Andrew has a Post Graduate certificate in Applied Science in Sports Coaching and a Masters of High-Performance Sport.

Andrew has worked 15 years as the Director of Track and Field and Athletic Development at Trinity Grammer School in Sydney, and is currently a National High-Performance coach for Athletics Australia and National Horizontal jumps lead coach.

Andrew has over 20 years of coaching experience, having coached a long list of athletes, including the development of Rohan Browning who is 2nd on the all-time Australian Rankings with 10.01s for the 100m.
