Coach Education | Middle Distance

Athletics West and Western Australian Institute of Sport are hosting  a coach education workshop. The session is led by Justin Rinaldi, High Performance Coach and dual AUS 800m Champion (1996 & 2006) will give insights into middle distance racing and coaching philosophy, open to all coaches to attend to assist with education & self learning.

Session Details

• Date: Saturday 16 March 2024
• Time: 9am-11am (Practical session- WA Athletics Stadium)) & 1pm-2pm (Presentation - WAIS Seminar Room)
• CPD: 15 points per hour

Session Outline

Session One (9am-11am)- Practical – Breaking down the race for coaches including programming and training session delivery (30 CPD points)

Session Two (1pm- 2pm)- Presentation on Peter Bol's 2021 season including coaching philosophy (15 CPD Points)

BIOGRAPHY | Justin Rinaldi

Former athlete with PB’s of 1:47.64 800m & 3:40.60 1500m.

National 800m Champion in 1997.

Started coaching in 2008 with one athlete (Alex Rowe) 15yrs old 1:54.30 progressed to National Record 1:44.40 in 2014.

Coached 4 National Record Holders over 800m (one from the Cook Islands 1:47.26)
