A small outback town, elite athletes, $65,000 up for grabs, a bitumen street as the track. Combine this with a lawn bowls tournament, the Inland Art Prize, fireworks, market stalls, bands and street entertainment all weekend for the kids and you have yourself the outback experience that is Leonora's Golden Gift Carnival. 

In its 22nd year, the event features Australia's richest mile running race along the dusty main street of Leonora and WA athletes have a unique opportunity to take part.

GENERAL EVENTS & ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

The below events are available for entry, noting the following rules

• Age is calculated as at the 31 December 2024
• The elite mile is invite only and athletes must first contact ross@runnerstribe.com before entering
• Athletes must be turning 11 years of age by the 31 December in the year of competition to compete in the Elite Mile. 
• Athletes must be 40 years of age at the time of competition to compete in the Masters Mile.  
• Athletes who compete in the Elite Mile (Heats and/or Final) are not eligible to compete in the Open Mile. 
• Events indicated as 'LOCAL' are only open to residents of Leonora or close surrounds

ENTRIES

In 2024, Athletics West will be coordinating entries for the Leonora Golden Gift. Entry is open to both members and non-members, with online entries closing at midday on Saturday 1 June 2024. Late entries will only be accepted where there is a position available in the race and will close 30 minutes prior to each event or at the discretion of the Event Manager. The entry fee for late entries is payable in cash only. Athletes are encouraged not to rely on late entries.
